Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm

The local tourist information defines this place as ‘Where the Dolomites are at their most beautiful’. You need to have a hotel reservation to surrounding villages of Castelrotto/Kastelruth, Siusi/Seis, Fiè allo Sciliar/Völs am Schlern and Tires al Catinaccio/Tiers am Rosengarten to be able to enter the area. The area is restricted to car traffic unless you have overnight on the region. I’d recommend to spend at least 2-3 days as the place is a hiking and mountain biking heaven.

This particular shot was from a slightly cloudy sunrise. Watching the sunrise with the extraordinary views of Dolomites worth all the effort to go there. This is a perfect place for time lapse photography as the sun rises from the side of the mountains the small hilly region on the front does its spectacular light show!

Sunrise at Val d’Orcia

An iconic view of Val d’Orcia with its well known Agriturismo (Farmhose stay). One of the most picturesque locations of all Europe, Val d’Orcia offers unlimited opportunities for photographers like me with its dynamicly changing landscape. Just 2 minutes after I took this picture, this farm was all covered with morning fog and there was a complete different view there..
It is hard not to fall in love with that place! If you are lucky to go there, don’t forget to drop by one of the world famous Sangiovese vineyards in the Val D’Orcia to taste their excellent dry red wine.

Sunset in Switzerland

The view of Château de Chillon at sunset time. Chillon Castle is located on a rock on the banks of Lake Geneva. The water castle is the most visited historic building in Switzerland. For nearly four centuries Chillon was the residence and profitable toll station of the Counts of Savoy.

Russian Chapel, Mathildenhöhe, Darmstadt
Mathildenhöhe is known as one of the most important spots for Art Nouveau movement. The great duke Ernst Ludwig founded in 1899 a colony of 7 artists. Its aim was to present to people a modern block integrating housing and work place. This block is located on the Mathildehöhe. The colony organised 4 exhibitions in Darmstadt in 1901, 1904, 1908 and 1914.
