The edge of the world! Maybe not the scariest place on earth, but the peaks of Seceda (2519m) looks really stunning and intimidating. The plateau of Seceda is widely considered one of the most photogenic locations in the Dolomites, which puts it among the best of the entire Alps. You need to hike to the point in order to shot a sunrise or a sunset as the lifts do work only during the daytime for a limited duration. From the mountain station of the Col Raiser gondola cableway (2,100 m), we take the trail n° 4, leading us the way across meadows and high-alpine forests towards the Rif. Firenze. From this place, the hiking trail n°1 stretches towards the Seceda. Hiking length is about 9,5km and it takes around 4 hours to finish it as the attitude difference is nearly 500 meters!
The local tourist information defines this place as ‘Where the Dolomites are at their most beautiful’. You need to have a hotel reservation to surrounding villages of Castelrotto/Kastelruth, Siusi/Seis, Fiè allo Sciliar/Völs am Schlern and Tires al Catinaccio/Tiers am Rosengarten to be able to enter the area. The area is restricted to car traffic unless you have overnight on the region. I’d recommend to spend at least 2-3 days as the place is a hiking and mountain biking heaven.
This particular shot was from a slightly cloudy sunrise. Watching the sunrise with the extraordinary views of Dolomites worth all the effort to go there. This is a perfect place for time lapse photography as the sun rises from the side of the mountains the small hilly region on the front does its spectacular light show!
A very clear summer night at Valensole, Provence, France
Panoramic view of famous Crete Senesi in south of Tuscany, Italy. The landscape includes Podere Baccoleno, a calm place with untouched nature; hills, woods and waters.
Reitdiep Marina (original name: Reitdiephaven) is a new housing location on the edge of Groningen, Netherlands. The colorful buildings reflect a very good example of Dutch architecture. A must see place if you are visiting Groningen.
Frankly, I was thinking about shooting the reflection of the lake while driving there. Hintersee had prepared a surprise for us as still being frozen in this time of year! Another surprise was the wonderful sunset!
Winter time in Hallstatt. The silent small town of Austria, Hallstatt is a place where you can even hear your heartbeat! You can look down to Hallstatt from its Classic Village Viewpoint / Postcard Angle to see its charming landscape any season of the year!
I have tried to capture the most iconic landscape of Iceland, the Kirkjufell, despite the bad weather conditions.
This is the Aldeyjarfoss, an enormous waterfall flowing between a canyon of basalt formations.
Waking up early to a cold Icelandic day, driving to the place before the early lights, getting wet from the waves of the cold cold sea… all worthy for this extraordinary view!
Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland. The grounds of this specific waterfall allows you to walk behind it. Most of the time the view behind from the waterfall is amazing, in spite of high chances of getting wet 🙂
